Energy, climate control, structures, networks, and special systems need to function in an integrated way, with no room for error.

Now imagine this scenario repeating itself in different projects, with distinct teams, different designers, and increasingly challenging deadlines.

Without standardization, each new project may end up starting from scratch.

And this creates a chain reaction: inconsistencies in the models, rework, wasted time, and difficulty in maintaining technical control.

It was in this context that Cadbim acted alongside Scala Data Centers, with a clear objective: To build a solid, replicable, and reliable BIM foundation to support the expansion of the company's projects.

The challenge: to create a replicable technical foundation.

Unlike one-off projects, operations with multiple data centers require consistency.

This means ensuring that different teams can work at the same level of quality, following well-defined standards and producing models that are compatible with each other.

The challenge for Scala Data Centers was to reduce variations between designers, avoid inconsistencies in BIM models, and create a technical basis that could be used as a reference for different projects.

Without this, each new project would bring operational risks and loss of efficiency.

BIM standardization as a scaling strategy

To resolve this scenario, Cadbim structured a complete standardization of BIM templates, creating an organized and consistent base for all disciplines involved.

This work was essential to ensure that the models followed a common logic, regardless of the team responsible.

Standardization included subjects such as:

Architecture;

Structure;

Electrical;

Hydraulics;

HVAC;

Diesel oil;

Fire Prevention and Control Plan (PPCI);

Special Systems.

This meant organizing families, parameters and technical guidelines, ensuring that all models were developed to the same quality standard.

Organization of information and technical control

One of the main benefits of standardization was the increased technical control over the models.

With well-structured templates, teams began to work more consistently, reducing errors and facilitating the validation of deliverables.

Furthermore, standardization has brought important benefits such as:

greater clarity in the organization of information;

Reducing inconsistencies between disciplines;

Improved communication between teams;

greater agility in project development.

This type of organization is fundamental in highly complex projects, where small errors can generate large impacts throughout the construction process.

Underground modeling: anticipating problems before construction.

In addition to BIM standardization, the project had an important distinguishing feature: The development of underground 3D models.

This step was essential to improve technical coordination and anticipate interference between systems even in the design phase.

In environments such as data centers, where different infrastructures occupy the same space, conflicts between elements are common, especially in underground areas.

Modeling allowed us to visualize these interactions in advance, preventing problems from only being identified during execution.

The result was a significant increase in the predictability of the project and in the quality of technical decisions.

Results: more predictability and less rework.

Throughout the project, the combination of BIM standardization and underground modeling brought concrete gains to Scala Data Centers.

Among the main results, the following stand out:

A unified and consistent BIM environment across disciplines;

Greater predictability for future projects;

Reducing rework throughout projects;

Strengthening technical control;

Increased reliability of BIM models.

Cadbim's work has structured a strategic foundation that allows projects to be scaled more safely and efficiently.

Standardize to grow consistently.

Data center projects don't allow for improvisation.

They require precision, organization, and the ability to replicate best practices in different scenarios.

In this context, BIM standardization becomes a strategic element for companies seeking consistent growth.

By creating a solid technical foundation and investing in advanced modeling, such as underground modeling, it is possible to reduce risks, optimize processes, and ensure greater predictability at all stages of the project.

This is the #JeitoCadbim Our work involves transforming the complexity of large projects into structured
